About Us

The trustees of Raindrops Children’s Foundation are committed and dedicated to the cause of providing state-of-the-art medical care for children. All Trustees work for free and do not receive any remuneration from the charity. Funds raised from individuals, professionals and companies are used for the purpose of saving very poor and critically ill children by subsidising medical expenses, and promoting education and health research activities that have the potential to improve the lives of sick children.

Dr. Samatha Sonnappa

Dr Samatha Sonnappa is a Senior Pediatric Pulmonologist at Rainbow Children’s Hospital. She completed her primary medical education and training in Pediatrics in India. Sam trained in the department of Pediatric Respiratory Medicine at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and Institute of Child Health, University College London, United Kingdom. Sam is the founding chair person of Raindrops Children's Foundation. It was her dream to set up a charitable organization that would facilitate provision of state-of-the-art medical care for all children irrespective of their financial status. Although this is a tall dream, team Raindrops has started to take baby steps towards the realization of this goal.

 

Dr. Kishore Phadke

Dr Kishore Phadke is the Head of Pediatric Nephrology and the Director of Clinical Services at Rainbow Children’s Hospital. Kishore trained in Pediatric Nephrology at State University Hospital, Brooklyn, New York, USA. Kishore is the former chairperson of the Indian Pediatric Nephrology Group, President of Bangalore Pediatric Society, Vice President of the Southern Chapter of Indian Society of Nephrology and now Member of Zonal Coordination Committee of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka. Kishore established the Children’s Kidney Care Center at St. John’s Medical College Hospital, Bangalore, which is now one of the leading centers in the country for pediatric nephrology, dialysis and transplantation.

 

Ms. Anuradha

Ms. Anuradha Hegde was part of the early team of Infosys Technologies as a Software Architect. Anu has been an advisor to several software organizations on Systems and Strategy. Anu served as a member of the Board of Trustees at Arghyam, a Foundation for Water and Sanitation. She is now actively involved in designing and implementing solutions in Water and Sanitation. Anu believes that clean water and sanitation is the basic need of every human being.

 

Ms. Latha Sanala

Ms. Latha Sanala is Joint Secretary of NGO ‘Jnanadeepa’ working with underprivileged and specially abled children and Trustee of NGO ‘SANASSA’ working with career seeking underprivileged students. She is a Member of Rotary International – Bangalore West. Latha has worked with TCS, IBM and Information Services Group(ISG) with around 15 years of experience in IT Governance, Project Management , Service and Account Management. While in IBM, Latha served as a Core member of IBM CSR ‘On Demand Community’ built a 2 member to a 500+ member community and was highly commended by IBM Top Management. Latha now extensively works with children and believes that every child deserves to be happy who in turn will build a brighter and healthier future.
